Sahil Silk Roy is a multi-disciplinary artist and designer based in Melbourne, Australia. With a creative foundation as a graffiti artist spanning over a decade, his transition into an abstract-expressionistic studio practice positions him as an exciting new talent amongst contemporary artists in Australia.

Inspired by the spontaneous compositions that exist throughout his city, Silk Roy has long been drawn to these temporary glimpses of hand painted signage re-emerging after decades, hidden under thick layers of bill posters, gritty scrawls, slogans and marks peering through layers of sun baked council grey buff, weathered and warped, flaking off to reveal collage like pockets of colour, shape and form, unifying the the past with the present.
